Monday, 23 April, 2018

Most smartphones take pretty good video. But why settle for “pretty good” when you can have awesome? If you want to take excellent footage with your camera phone, check out these cool accessories:

Turn the videos on your phone into a DVD using Our free app is now available on Android and iPhone. Visit our website to learn more.

1. Ring Light

Stop waiting for good lighting – make good lighting. With a ring light, you can take video wherever and whenever you want. This LED attachment sits around your camera and shines directly at the subject, enhancing the video quality and visibility of the shot.

Source: Amazon

We recommend this ring light by Qiaya (a #1 best seller on Amazon). It has three levels of brightness, so you can get the best lighting for whatever situation you’re in. If you’re not completely satisfied, they’ll give you your money back. (But we’re pretty sure you’ll love it.)

2. Lavalier Microphone

What did you say? I can’t hear you.

With a lavalier microphone, you can ensure that everything your subject says is recorded loud and clear. They’re especially handy for interviews and live video. These microphones are so small, you can attach them to someone’s lapel, and they’re hardly noticeable.

Source: Amazon

We recommend this lavalier microphone from PoP Voice (it’s also Amazon’s top choice as well). This highly-rated accessory is noise cancelling, omnidirectional, and comes with an extra-long attachment cord.

3. Tripod

It’s hard to watch video that bounces all over the place. Keep your shots steady with a tripod. It’s also a great accessory to have if you want to get in the video, but you don’t want to use a selfie stick.

Source: Amazon

We recommend this portable tripod from Ubeesize. We like it because it easily transportable, and it includes a camera adapter, remote, and clip.

4. Camera Lens Kit

Similar to buying lenses for DSLR cameras, you can purchase additional camera lenses for smartphones. These tiny lenses make it easier to take enhanced and visually interesting videos.

Source: Amazon

We recommend AMIR’s camera lens kit. It includes super wide angle (expands the view), fisheye (180° degree), and micro (detailed close-ups) lenses.

What to do with the videos on your phone

Monday, 19 March, 2018

Back in the good old days, families would gather around the television, pop in a VHS tape, and watch family home videos together.

Over time, you’d think the viewing experience would improve. But it hasn’t. In fact, it’s gotten worse. Because most people record videos on their phone, families have to squint at a tiny screen in order to enjoy their favorite family memories.

It’s time to get the videos off your phone and put them to good use. Here are a couple of things you can do:

  1. Transfer videos from your phone to a DVD.

Thanks to, you can still watch your family home videos on the big screen. We take the videos on your phone and turn them into beautifully edited DVDs – complete with transitions and music.

All you have to do is download our free app, upload the photos and videos you want to include, and we’ll do the rest. You will receive your personalized DVD in the mail, along with some fun extras. No commitment, no subscription – just order as often as you’d like.

If you aren’t interested in using our service, click here for instructions on how you can transfer the videos from your phone to a DVD.

  1. Back your videos up.

Videos take up a lot of space. Clear up room on your phone by backing them up to a new location.

If you want access to your videos from any device, we recommend you use cloud storage. The most popular cloud drive services include AmazonDropBox and Box. Plans typically cost anywhere from $5 – $100 per year (depending on what you need).

If you don’t want to pay for a subscription, and you don’t need unlimited access, then we recommend backing up your files to an external hard drive. Although they are not the most reliable form of backup, external hard drives are great short-term solution for storing your videos.

  1. Post your videos on social media.

Why not share your memories with your family and friends?

If you want to get the videos off your phone and in a place where everyone can easily enjoy them, social media is the perfect solution. Facebook, YouTube, and Vimeo are all excellent sites for video uploading and sharing.

Before your post any videos of your children online, make sure you understand who is going to be able to view your videos. If you are worried about strangers viewing footage of your kids, make sure to set your videos to private.

Here’s why cameras make you look 10 pounds heavier

Thursday, 11 January, 2018

If you’ve ever complained about looking heavier a picture or video, you’ve probably been comforted by the age-old claim, “The camera adds 10 pounds.”

Turns out, it’s not a myth designed to help people feel better about themselves.

Cameras do make you look a few pounds thicker.

Here’s why:

Lens Structure

According to Gizmodo, wide angle lenses “create a sort of fisheye effect, which can bloat subjects in the middle, and stretch those on the outside.” In other words, depending on the type of lens the photographer uses, it’ll distort the picture in ways that are less-than-flattering for the subject.

Here’s an excellent example:

Jon Cornicello, a photography expert, explains that the additional weight could also be the byproduct of the photographer’s distance: “When it comes to perspective in photography, the closer you are to your subject, the more narrow their face will appear…we all seem to look heavier to ourselves in photographs that are taken from greater distances.”

Most people only see themselves when they look in the mirror – a very short distance – so it makes sense that when they see themselves from a greater distance, it isn’t what they expect.

Photography blogger, Alea Lovely, said it best: “Angles can be your best friend or worst enemy.”

There’s a reason why most selfies are taken from above: It’s an angle flatters everyone. Having a shorter person take your picture from below is a recipe for disaster.

In addition to the camera angle, how you position yourself is also key to looking slimmer in pictures. Sticking your chin out, turning your body, and positioning your arms away from your body are all ways to compliment your figure.

Every Chapter of your Family’s Life is Professionally Edited and in One Place

LAS VEGAS – Jan. 8, 2018, a personal digital media application for families, today announced its new application that professionally edits videos stored on a smart phone into beautiful home movies. It is as simple as uploading the videos and photos to the application, and the platform takes care of the rest.

Users simply upload video and images through an iOS app and technology automatically adds music, transitions and effects to create a Magic Movie™ for family viewing anytime and anywhere. Currently users will receive a DVD, but memories will also be stored in the cloud and be made available through an online streaming channel later in 2018, so users can access their home movies on any device and share them with family and friends afar.

Now, family memories that have been sitting on personal mobile devices get the attention they deserve, so users can focus on making more memories not editing them.

“The typical consumer has thousands of pictures or hundreds of videos stored on their smart phones. is perfect for today’s busy families,” said Paul Brockbank, CEO, “The pictures of your wedding, last year’s vacation or that video of your child’s first steps are irreplaceable and often live on your mobile device and are rarely shared. This is due to the time it takes to upload, edit and then share the final video. We automate the full process, helping transform these videos from the small mobile device screen to the large screen in your home – taking the hassle out of video editing, so you can simply upload and go.”

As part of the two-tiered launch strategy, will also launch in the summer of 2018 a personal video streaming solution. These professionally curated videos will not only be delivered on DVD, but also served up on an upcoming personal streaming site for families to share their vacations, birthdays and other special occasions with anyone at any time.

Availability – The app will be available in Q1 of 2018.

About consolidates mobile device photos and videos into a central location, performs an automated professional edit of the content, and makes it available to consume on any home medium (TV, computer, digital device). Creating moments and sharing them with others has never been easier.
